Start with the decision, not the company name
An injury can generate more than one claim number. A payment for vehicle repairs, a medical-benefits decision and an offer to settle an injury are not interchangeable. Identify the policy, the person making the claim and the specific benefit or loss at issue.
For a visitor, a rental agreement or an out-of-state policy may add another document to review. Do not assume Florida coverage applies in the same way to every traveler. The actual policy and the facts control.
A short claim map can show what is still unresolved without treating every delay as a denial.
Coverage refused
Find the written policy provision the insurer relies on, rather than relying on a phone summary.
Fault disputed
Keep scene evidence separate from the insurer’s opinion about which driver or property owner caused the injury.
Treatment questioned
Identify the visit, diagnosis or charge being challenged so the response addresses the actual concern.
Payment incomplete
Compare the payment explanation with the claim submitted. A partial payment may leave a different issue open.
Another carrier named
Record who referred the claim elsewhere and why. A referral alone does not prove that policy covers the loss.
Release requested
Read what claims and parties the proposed release covers before treating the check as a limited payment.
