A disrupted trip should not leave you sorting out insurance alone.

Orlando Uber & Lyft Accident Lawyer

No attorney fee unless compensation is recovered for you.

Hurt in an Orlando Uber or Lyft crash? Katz & Associates can help connect the ride record, the collision evidence, and the policies that may cover your injuries. You can ask for help even if you have returned home or do not know which driver was at fault.

Keep your trip receipt and medical paperwork. The name on the app is a starting point, not the full insurance answer.

CONNECTING A VISITOR’S TRIP AND RECOVERY RECORDS

When your journey continues but your claim stays in Florida

A visitor may receive emergency care near the crash, follow-up treatment at home, and insurance calls from somewhere else. Those pieces need one clear chronology. Write down when the collision happened, where you first received care, and which provider is treating you now. Save discharge instructions and any referrals rather than relying on memory.

The pickup, destination, and collision address may be three different places. An Orlando travel booking does not establish that an incident occurred inside city limits. Identify the agency on the report or officer’s card before requesting records. If Orlando Police investigated, the city provides a traffic crash report request route; do not use it as a substitute for a different agency’s file. The Orlando personal injury page explains the wider local claim picture; this page focuses on the additional app and coverage questions a rideshare crash creates.

Still away from home? Start with what you have.

You do not need to reconstruct every mile before calling. Tell us where the crash happened, whether you were a passenger, and how to reach you while you recover.

Turn a scattered travel file into a usable injury record

Start with the ride you actually took

Save the receipt, trip identifier, driver’s name, vehicle details, pickup and drop-off locations, and messages about a changed pickup. If someone else booked the ride, ask them to preserve the account record. Do not edit screenshots or discard the original messages after forwarding them. A canceled or interrupted ride may need more than a final receipt to explain what happened.

Separate app status from who caused the collision

Florida’s rideshare insurance statute distinguishes a driver logged on and waiting from a driver engaged in a prearranged ride. A prearranged ride begins with acceptance, not only when the passenger gets in. The statutory primary liability minimums are $50,000 per person/$100,000 per incident for bodily injury and $25,000 property damage while logged on without a prearranged ride; during a prearranged ride the minimum is $1 million. Those are coverage requirements, not a promised settlement.

Another motorist may have caused the impact even though you were in a rideshare. The investigation must still connect negligent conduct to your injuries. Our Orlando car accident guidance covers the underlying collision issues, while the Florida Uber and Lyft accident page explains the statewide rideshare framework.

Keep recovery costs connected to the crash

Retain bills, visit summaries, work restrictions, and proof of missed earnings. A travel change or missed shift is not self-proving: keep the underlying receipt or employer record and explain why it followed the injury. Tell your care providers accurately about symptoms and prior conditions. Do not guess about a diagnosis or assume every future expense can already be calculated.

Before accepting a settlement, understand what claims the release covers and whether treatment needs remain uncertain. Insurance notice requirements and lawsuit deadlines are different questions. An early conversation can identify which dates require attention without treating an app complaint as a substitute for a legal claim.

Questions after an Orlando trip is interrupted

Yes. Being the passenger and being the account holder are different facts. Preserve your friend’s booking details and your own treatment record. The account holder’s receipt can help identify the ride, but it does not replace evidence of your injuries.

No. Use the investigating agency and case number. City police, county deputies, or another agency may have handled the collision. A hotel address or destination labeled Orlando does not settle which agency holds the report.

Leaving does not by itself answer whether a claim exists. What matters includes the collision, applicable law, evidence, injuries, and deadlines. Keep contact details current and preserve records from treatment received after you travel.
